Rules for Coloring Contest

- All entries must be received by email or postmarked, to the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, by August 1.

- Open to all ages.

- Age groups: Under 5, 6-10, 11-15 and 16 & over.

- Only one entry per person.

- You must reside in Kootenai County to participate.

- Prize for winner in each age group.

- Winners displayed during North Idaho State Fair in Building 17. Only the entry name will be displayed.

- We reserve the right to use the entries for any purposes the fair board sees fit.

Watermelon Eating Contest

We are excited to bring back the most popular contest of the season- Watermelon Eating!

Multiple times and days available so nobody misses out on the fun!

1st through 3rd place winners receive a ribbon!

Scavenger Hunt

Available to all ages! Pick up your map at Farm Park and explore every nook and cranny of the North Idaho State Fair. Once completed, return your map to the Information Booth for a prize. There will not be placings or ribbons for this event. Only participants with fully completed maps will be eligible for a prize.

Potato Decorating

This great Idaho Spud opportunity is a great family tradition for all ages. Youth will be given a potato and assortment of foods, crafts, and miscellaneous items to try to decorate their potato with the most creativity. Adults will be given a potato and sharp object to put their carving creativity to the test.

Guess how many Skittles Contest

How many Skittles candies are in the container? Each day you may write down your guess. On Sunday, August 25th, all the entries will be recorded, and the winner(s) will be notified

Frozen T-Shirt Contest

Each contestant will receive a frozen Fair t-shirt to defrost and wear.
The first to get the shirt on wins! Participants get to keep their new shirts.

Pie Eating Contest

Come one, come all to the famous Pie Eating Contest for this year's fair!

Open to all ages so come one, come all for a deliciously good time!

Oreo Stacking Contest

Diaper Derby

Diaper Derby:

The Diaper Derby is a fun filled event for crawling children under 18 months of age. Crawlers participating in the Diaper Derby will crawl from one cheering “coach” to the other (each racer must be accompanied by at least one adult and a helper). The “coaches” can be behind the start and finish lines and can use toys, dolls, baby bottles, keys, etc. to offer the racer incentives to race to the finish. Any extra help and the racer will be disqualified! The winning racers must cross the finish line on their own. You can only enter each child once in the following classes: Girl, Boy, under 7 months, 7-10 months, 10-12 months & 12-18 months.
